Perspective of a teen getting their first tattoo

Hi, my name is Jenna Newman.
I recently graduated high school in Ohio, and have been saving up to get my very first tattoo. Coming from a conservative Christian family, my parents are not cool with the fact that I have made this decision, but I believe that body art is a form of expression, and I think it is beautiful. Most of my friends have already gotten their first tattoos, and I sometimes feel left out when they talk about their most recent addition. In a way, I believe that tattoos are also a social status, especially where I come from.
